When it comes to bags and luggage, Japan has long been the home of innovation and refinement. While the all-American 20th-century canvas backpack design captured Japanese labels in the 90s and early 2000s, labels still refining their canvas luggage and accessories have also embraced forward-thinking bag design, experimenting with material and shape. Danton is one such label.
Built on the historied foundations of more than 50 years producing French workwear, in recent collections the label has sought to expand its bag and luggage offerings beyond their trademark canvas pieces. The Nylon Half Moon Shoulder Bag represents a bold new step towards further innovation.
Bags are normally a hindrance. Perhaps the most striking thing about this piece is its unique panel construction that, when combined with its shape, ensures that it stays close to the body, allowing a range of movement precluded by most bags with this kind of volume. Further contributing to the bag's practical appeal is a front diagonal zip entry through which one may access an internal pocket or the main compartment. Other features include two-way zip closure with sturdy zip pulls and a fully-adjustable shoulder strap. Finally, what would a Danton piece be without the iconic red diamond label, here in woven form on the bag's face.
Made in Japan from 100% nylon.
